Environmental Sound Technology and Innovation

The technology transfer and innovation is one of the most important services of the ENCPC to the Egyptian Industry to drive the process of continuous technological advances and innovation in manufacturing high value added products. In this context the ENCPC is offering its services through preparation of technical specifications for new environmental technologies, support in process of bidding and issuing of tenders and facilitate technical and financial evaluation for offers. Furthermore the ENCPC support the Egyptian industry in identification and implementation of new and innovative ideas and projects which will create an added value product and increase the competitiveness of the Egyptian industry. For this ENCPC is using its international network and highly specialized international.

Environmental Sound Technology and Transfer:

1. Improving the working environment and installation of de-dusting system and installation of a new crusher

Company Name: El Nasr for Mining Company

Objective of the project: The objective of this audit report is to assess the existing environmental situation in the crushing area and identify the required measures for reducing the pollution load in the work and ambient environment of crushing area in concentrating factory of phosphate.

Activities of the project:

  • Assisting the company in the assessment of the environmental situation in work environment
  • Assist the company in preparing the technical specifications and tender documents for rehabilitation and installation of de-dusting system for existing crusher number 1.
  • Assist the company in preparing technical specifications and tender documents for installation of a new crusher to replace the old three crushers (2,3,&4)
  • Assist the company to follow the procedures for benefiting from the financial assistance of the Private -Public Sector Industry Project (PPSIII) and obtain the required financial support through KFW.  

 

2. Implementation of a new de-dusting system

Company Name:  Egyptian Ferroalloys Company

Objective of Project: Carrying out a feasibility study for the company in order to make it comply with the Egyptian environment law.

Activities of the project:

  • Assisting the company in the assessment of the environmental situation in work environment and air pollution.
  • Assist the company in preparing and identifying the opportunities of cleaner production.
  • Carry out a pre-feasibility study for the cost and payback of implementation of the new projects.
  • Prepare a final CAP report includes all the results and recommendation.
  • Assist the company to apply to obtain the required financial assistance through the Private -Public Sector Industry Project (PPSI).obtain the required financial support through KFW.

  • Using dust in coloring concrete used in decoration (The experiment has shown successful results)
  • Using dust in manufacturing silica bricks as it contains a percentage of Calcium oxide that can be mixed with silica to produce silica bricks (the experiment has shown bad results)
  • Using dust in the formulation of a liquid fertilizer as the analysis of dust has shown its high content with different kinds of metals (Fe, Mg, Ca, and Zn).
  • Using dust with a certain percentage in the road construction as a filling material.  This experiment will be done in cooperation with the Bridges and Roads Authority.
